Gafa Geometric and Functional Analysis Time Dependent Resonance Theory

چکیده
An important class of resonance problems involves the study of perturbations of systems having embedded eigenvalues in their continuous spectrum. Problems with this mathematical structure arise in the study of many physical systems, e.g. the coupling of an atom or molecule to a photon-radiation eld, and Auger states of the helium atom, as well as in spectral geometry and number theory. We present a dynamic (time-dependent) theory of such quantum resonances. The key hypotheses are (i) a resonance condition which holds generically (non-vanishing of the Fermi golden rule) and (ii) local decay estimates for the unperturbed dynamics with initial data consisting of continuum modes associated with an interval containing the embedded eigenvalue of the unperturbed Hamiltonian. No assumption of dilation analyticity of the potential is made. Our method explicitly demonstrates the ow of energy from the resonant discrete mode to continuum modes due to their coupling. The approach is also applicable to nonautonomous linear problems and to nonlinear problems. We derive the time behavior of the resonant states for intermediate and long times. Examples and applications are presented. Among them is a proof of the instability of an embedded eigenvalue at a threshold energy under suitable hypotheses.

Geometric and Electronic Structures of Vanadium Sub-nano Clusters, Vn (n = 2-5), and their Adsorption Complexes with CO and O2 Ligands: A DFT-NBO Study
In this study, electronic structures of ground state of pure vanadium sub-nano clusters, Vn (n=2-5), and their interactions with small ligands for example CO and triplet O2 molecules are investigated by using density functional theory (DFT) calibration at the mPWPW91/QZVP level of theory. The favorable orientations of these ligands in interaction with pure vanadium sub-nano clusters were determ...
متن کاملGeometric distortion evaluation of magnetic resonance images by a new large field of view phantom for magnetic resonance based radiotherapy purposes
Background: The magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-based radiotherapy planning method have been considered in recent years because of the advantages of MRI and the problems of planning with two images modality. The first step in MRI-based radiotherapy is to evaluate magnetic resonance (MR) images geometric distortion. Therefore, the present study aimed to evaluate system related geometric distort...
متن کاملGafa Geometric and Functional Analysis Steiner Symmetrization Is Continuous
We study the continuity, smoothing, and convergence properties of Steiner symmetrization in higher space dimensions. Our main result is that Steiner symmetrization is continuous in W 1;p (1 p < 1) in all dimensions. This implies that spherical symmetrization cannot be approximated in W 1;p by sequences of Steiner symmetrizations. We also give a quantitative version of the standard energy inequa...
متن کاملRepeatability of Detecting Visual Cortex Activity in Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Introduction As functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) is too expensive and time consuming, its frequent implementation is difficult. The aim of this study is to evaluate repeatability of detecting visual cortex activity in fMRI. Materials and Methods In this study, 15 normal volunteers (10 female, 5 male; Mean age±SD: 24.7±3.8 years) attended. Functional magnetic resonance images were ob...
متن کاملTheoretical investigation of the implicit effects water molecules and resonance interactions on structural stability and NMR tensors of hallucinogenic harmine by density functional calculations
Abstractl Density functional theory (DFT) was used to investigate the effects of intra-moecular interactions and implicit water molecules on the relative stability and the NMR shielding tensors of hallucinogenic harmine in the monomeric and dimeric states. Results represented that the relative stability and the NMR shielding tensors are dependent on the resonance interactions and chemical envir...
